The Inspiration

Elevenses was born in a small country kitchen, to the sound of women laughing.

Growing up, my mother baked for her friends — proper baking, nothing from a packet. Every Tuesday, the house would fill with the smell of butter melting into warm cinnamon, brown sugar browning at the edges, something golden just out of the oven. Her friends would arrive, the kettle would go on, and the afternoon would stretch out the way afternoons used to. Unhurried. Generous. Full.

This candle is that memory. Light it when your own people are coming over — or when you simply want to give yourself the gift of a slower afternoon.
