Wilde Apple Tree

From “how hard could it be?” to something I can’t imagine not doing…

Wilde Apple Tree began as a simple side hustle — a way to step away from a job I’d outgrown and into something more creative. Like many people, I thought making candles would be easy… melt some wax, pour it into a jar, done. Right?

Not quite.

But what started with a few wonky pours quickly became a deep dive into scent blending, wick testing, wax tempering — and somewhere in the middle of it all, I fell in love with the process. Especially the part where fragrance could connect so strongly to memory — a moment, a place, or even a person.

Each candle I create is inspired by that idea. That a scent can take you somewhere — or be right there with you while a new memory is made. I hope every Wilde Apple Tree candle brings joy, calm, and a little exhale into your day. Life is busy. If lighting one of these helps you pause, smile, or simply breathe, then I’ve done what I set out to do.

Why “Wilde Apple Tree”?

The name comes from a piece of family history — a relative whose traditional name translated to “Wild Apple Tree.” I added the e to make it my own, but I always thought it was a beautiful name. A little untamed, a little grounded — much like this business journey.

I work solo (most of the time), with the occasional help from my daughter when she’s feeling generous. Every candle is hand-poured in small batches, and I’m slowly expanding into soaps — something I’m very excited about.
